Privacy Statement CowManager
CowManager is developing a revolutionary ear sensor system that provides accurate information on the fertility, health, nutrition and location of livestock 24 hours a day. CowManager B.V. (KvK: 59285273) is located at Gerverscop 9, 3481 LT Harmelen, The Netherlands (hereinafter “CowManager”, “we” or “us/our”).
As an organization, we process different data for different purposes. CowManager is responsible for the activities mentioned in this privacy statement. This includes data relating to:
- Persons who are interested in CowManager’s products and services (hereinafter “interested parties“)
- Applicants or persons oriented towards employment at CowManager (hereinafter “applicants“)
- Persons who are a relation of ours or who are employed by our relations (hereinafter “relations“)
- Persons from whom we purchase products or services or who are employed by our suppliers (hereinafter “suppliers“)
- Visitors to our website (hereinafter “website visitors“)
- Third parties, such as persons, other than relations, who contact CowManager (hereinafter “third parties“)
In this Privacy Statement, we explain, among other things:
- What personal data we process from the categories of persons
- For what purposes we process them and on what legal basis
- What rights these individuals have regarding the data we process about them
- Who you can contact about this Privacy Statement and how CowManager processes personal data about you
This privacy statement does not apply to CowManager services and products.
1. What Personal Data Do We Process
- From interested parties, we process the following data:
- Contact details (name and address details, telephone number and similar data required for communication)
- From job applicants, we process the following data:
- Contact details (name and address, titles, telephone numbers and similar data required for communication), date of birth, nationality, place of birth, gender
- Details of the nature and content of the current employment, as well as any termination thereof
- In some cases: a certificate of conduct and details of an identity document
- Other data with a view to fulfilling the position, provided by the person concerned or known to him (such as data on a curriculum vitae, or results of a competency test)
- Other data whose processing is required pursuant to or necessary for the application of laws or regulations
- From relations, we process the following data:
- Contact details (name and address, title, telephone numbers and similar data required for communication), bank account number
- Data for the purpose of handling the case or resolving the dispute
- Data for the purpose of calculating and recording fees and expenditure, making payments and collecting receivables
- Other data whose processing is required pursuant to or necessary for the application of laws or regulations
- From suppliers, we process the following data:
- Contact details (name and address, title, telephone numbers and similar data required for communication), gender, bank account number
- In some cases: a certificate of conduct and details of an identity document
- Data for the purpose of placing orders or purchasing services
- Data for the purpose of calculating and recording expenditure and making payments
- Other data whose processing is required pursuant to or necessary for the application of laws or regulations
- From website visitors, we process the following data:
- Data in connection with a visit to our website, such as data for the purpose of identifying and communicating with website visitors or data recorded to maintain visitor statistics of our website
- From third parties, we process the following data:
- Contact details (name and address details, titles, telephone numbers and similar data required for communication), date of birth and gender if and to the extent made known to us
- Data relating to electronic messages originating from or intended for third parties and data necessary for maintaining contact with such third parties
2. For What Purposes Do We Process this Data and On What Legal Basis
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Recruitment and selection of potential employees
- Application process
- Improving our services
- Marketing purposes
- Relationship management
- Handle disputes, queries, or investigations, including legal proceedings
- Make payments and collect receivables
- Complying with laws and regulations
We may only process personal data if there is a valid legal basis for doing so. We therefore only process the aforementioned data if:
- The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject, or in order to carry out pre-contractual acts at the data subject’s request, for example for the completion of a job application procedure (hereinafter “contract performance”)
- The processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation incumbent on CowManager, such as, for example, our obligation to ascertain the identity of our relations (hereinafter “legal obligation”)
- The processing is necessary for the protection of the legitimate interests of CowManager or another person, and those interests outweigh the interests or fundamental rights of the person whose data are involved, which is the case, for example, when contact details are used to send unsolicited commercial messages for the purpose of maintaining our business relations (hereinafter “legitimate interest”)
- The data subject has given consent to the processing (hereinafter “consent”)
3. With Whom We May Share Personal Data
- We may share personal data about job applicants with:
- Suppliers (e.g. the external party providing our competency test)
- Others, with the data subject’s consent, or if there is a legal obligation
- We may share personal data about relationships with:
- Suppliers (e.g. external translation agencies)
- Others, with the data subject’s consent, or if there is a legal obligation
- We may share personal data about third parties with:
- Suppliers
- Others, with the data subject’s consent, or if there is a legal obligation
We may share personal data on all data subjects with the data subject’s consent or if there is a legal obligation.
4. How Do We Protect Your Personal Data
CowManager applies security measures to protect your data against destruction, loss, alteration or unauthorized disclosure or access. These include administrative, physical and technological measures. Persons working for us are bound by confidentiality, and must comply with our instructions aimed at the adequate protection of your data.
5. Transfer to Countries Outside the EEA
Personal data may be transferred to a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA) that provides a lower level of protection to personal data than the laws within the EEA. For example, a supplier of online services that we use may be located outside the EEA (for example, in the United States of America), and the use of that service may involve a transfer of personal data to the supplier.
If such a situation arises, and personal data is transferred to a country outside the EEA that provides less legal protection for personal data, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to ensure that the transfer takes place in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.
6. How Long We Keep Personal Data
We do not keep personal data for longer than necessary: i) for the purposes for which the personal data are processed: for example, data on job applicants are deleted four weeks after the end of the application process, unless the data subject joins us or gives permission to keep them longer (and for a maximum of one year); ii) to comply with laws and regulations: for example, data required for our accounting purposes are kept for seven years.
7. Your Rights in Respect of Your Personal Data
Personal data protection legislation grants individuals the following rights in respect of personal data relating to them:
- The right to request whether personal data concerning them are being processed and, if so, to have access to it
- The right to request rectification and erasure of that data
- The right to object to processing or request restriction of processing
- The right to withdraw consent to processing, if the processing is based on your consent
- The right to receive or deliver your data to an organization designated by you, in a structured, common and machine-readable form
- Depending on your country of residence, the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Personal Data Authority in The Hague (www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl)
CowManager will consider a request related to the exercise of these rights in the manner prescribed by law. However, these rights are not absolute; they do not apply in all circumstances and applicable regulations provide for necessary exceptions. If we do not comply with your request, we will explain why.

You can also use that email address if you wish to lodge a complaint about the way your personal data has been processed by CowManager. If you are not satisfied with the way we have handled your complaint, you can file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority or, if you live or work in another EEA country, with the regulator in that country.
9. Changes
This privacy statement was last amended on 12 March 2024.
If we amend this statement in the future, we will publish the amended statement on our website, stating the date on which the changes take effect. If there are changes that may significantly affect one or more data subjects, we will do our best to inform those data subjects immediately as well.
