Brian Hamming is owner of Hamming Holsteins in Vernon, BC, Canada. He runs his farm with his family, his son Clayton in special. They have 400 cows, of which all the milking cows, dry cows and heifers ready for breeding have CowManager ear sensors. Clayton: “It was a great investment for the farm. We’re using less drugs and less semen because we are getting cows pregnant faster. I’d highly recommend CowManager to anyone that’s looking to make a change.”

Never miss a heat

“We chose CowManager simply because we had friends using it and they showed us a bit about it. My dad’s best friend in Alberta had installed it 5-plus years before we even looked into it. He showed us the simplicity of it, how you can have the app on your phone. That’s the reason why we wanted to make a change in our herd and heat detect better and help our fresh cows out a bit more”, Clayton Hamming says.

“With me having two young boys, I’m maybe not in the barn as much as I used to be. Those cows that come in heat in the middle of the night, that we couldn’t catch by our eye. Those cows that were maybe in heat for two hours in the middle of the night, we’re catching them with CowManager. We wake up with an alert on our phone in the morning. That’s what we like about it.”

“Just believe in the results”

The system is incredibly easy to use, Clayton says. “Whether you’re a younger generation or an older generation, it’s very simple to use. And if you do need help, the support’s always there.”

Brian agrees, saying: “As being the middle-aged genre, that doesn’t know anything about technology, I found it very easy to run with. As we stand in the barn, my phone vibrates and I get a heat alert. And there she is, jumping behind us. One hundred percent.” He adds: “Just believe in the results. At the end of the day it puts more money in my pocket, to get cows pregnant quicker and have happy, healthy cows.”
